In this dominantly Catholic nation, Easter is a big deal, and is celebrated with much gusto. Preparations for Easter commence ten to fourteen days before Easter Sunday (this includes the opening of the Easter Market in the Old Town Square) and celebrations come to an end on Easter Monday night. Most of the shops at the Easter Market sell an assortment of handmade Easter decorations that exhibit the creative efforts of local artisans.

Must-try: Stick around to witness folk bands stage an impromptu show, performing village tunes, songs, and dances.
