48 Hours in Beijing

A handy guide.

The Great Wall is often synonymous with a trip to China; many visitors believe it is the defining attraction of the country. There are different sections varying in popularity, size of the crowds, and state of repair, renovation or disrepair. One of the parts to consider adding to your itinerary is Mutianyu. This part has been repaired and renovated, but not so much as to completely diminish its authenticity. You’ll see how far the wall stretches amidst a background of mountains and trees that turn into different shades of yellow and orange during autumn.
