A cradle of diverse flora and fauna 30 minutes north of downtown Taipei City, Yangmingshan National Park is among Taiwan’s best places to see the turn of each season. In spring, sprays of hot pink grace the verdurous 114-square-kilometer park — also known as the “Backyard of Taipei” — as cherry blossoms come into full bloom.

Frequented by families, couples, friends, and hikers, the park holds a special celebration annually to usher in the season of spring: The Yangmingshan Flower Festival, which takes place between February and March.
