February is popularly known as the Love Month but did you know that it’s also the Philippine National Arts Month? This is why the metro is peppered with art-related events whether it’s a colorful air balloon fiesta, free admission exhibits, or book sales! Check out these events and plan where you want to go with your loved ones.

Go on a book shopping spree

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale – The only 24 hour book sale has reached Philippine shores and will be opening its doors from February 16 to 25 at the World Trade Center in Pasay. Get books with discounts of up to 80%!

Attend fiestas

Join Fringe Manila on their 4^th year! Over a hundred events will be stretched throughout February 7 to 25 as Fringe celebrates National Arts Month in theater, literature, music, dance, visual art, film, cabaret, performance art, circus and every other artistic genre in between.

This month also witnesses the debut of Manila Biennale which aims to bring back the soul of the walled city of Intramuros through different art activities, exhibitions, performances and film screenings. Get to see Intramuros’ gardens, museums, plazas, forts, and baluartes transform and learn about our country’s history along the way. The Biennale will be held until March 5.

Go to concerts

Travel back to the late 90s with the Playback Music Fest lineup where 7 international and local artists will be sharing a stage on February 10 at Circuit Makati.

The much awaited comeback of Paramore to Manila is finally happening! Cry your heart out as they perform live at the Mall of Asia Arena on February 18. Incubus will also be gracing Araneta Coliseum on February 17, a treat for rock fans everywhere.

Oh Wonder definitely surprised us when they announced a week ago that they’re coming back to the Philippines for 3 mall shows. This alt-pop duo will make you feel things through their performance for sure so bring your friends with you!

This year’s UP Fair from February 13 to 17 at UP Sunken Garden will be featuring more than 20 local artists both old and new, and indie and rock legends sharing a stage for five nights of thrilling performances. You can rock out with a community that appreciates the same music as you do!

Valentine’s for singles

Who says you can’t be a happy single on Hearts Day? VENGO in Makati will be holding their annual Valentine’s salubong party. But of course everyone is invited to SANA – Singles Appreciation Night on February 13.

You can also catch spoken word performances like TIBOK by Words Anonymous, Aray Ng Mga Puso by Artist Playground and All You Need is Pag-ibig by Filipino Spoken Word all on February 14.
