The One-Month Weekend Travel Challenge: July Edition

Discover new gastronomic delights this month.

You know what else we love about traveling aside from the admiring the place’s physical and cultural landscapes? Trying the food! Discover new eats this month and who knows, you might just find your new happy place.

Here are four of the newest and best eats worth traveling to this month:

Weekend 1: Kantorini Food Park, Quezon City

Lot 2, Katipunan Ave., 1105 Quezon City

You’ve probably heard of this Santorini-inspired food park in Katipunan with its quirky design and notoriously funny social media manager, so why not give it a try this weekend? The wide array of food choices will excite you: there’s the tasty wagyu cubes in Gyu Tom for your beef cravings; fans of chicken wings can head over to Wing Vibe, which offers delectable flavors that your taste buds will love. If you want a full Greek experience, choose from a wide selection of Greek food at Partenon! There are band performances from time to time and restaurants are open until 12 midnight, so you and your friends can maximize your time in this place.

Weekend 2: Bok Chicken, La Union

Attention, k-drama fans: there’s a new Korean style restaurant which is inspired by the fictional chicken place in the drama, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo! Visit their place in San Fernando, La Union and you’ll surely want to try their mouthwatering chicken flavors, which they also got from the drama. Unlike some Korean restaurants, their menu is definitely a lot cheaper, plus, they also sell Bok Joo and her friends’ comfort food: sausages!

Weekend 3: Concha’s Garden Café, Tagaytay

Richland Hills Subdivision 1, Sta. Rosa Tagaytay Road
Cliffhouse, Emilio Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City

Tagaytay is definitely a food haven, a favorite go-to place when you need a quick escape from the city. And if your taste buds crave something new to try without the hassle of a big crowd, look no further than Concha’s Garden Café, a garden-inspired food place that offers classic Filipino dishes. You can start with their bestsellers, Concha’s Laoya (lightly sweetened bulalo), Spicy Beef Adobo Ribs, Morcon, and Lechon Belly. They also serve desserts, cakes and some booze, so you’ll definitely have lots of options!

Concha’s Garden Café has two branches: one Mother Earth Gardens in Sta. Rosa Road, and the other one in Cliffhouse, which is owned by the other half of Aldub sensation, Alden Richards.

Weekend 4: Arca’s Yard, Baguio

Experience the quieter side of Baguio in Arca’s Yard, a cafe that offers comfort and tranquility as its main features. Their delectable and healthy menu will keep you coming back; you must try their crispy lemon orange chicken and pesto carbonara!

The view from the cafe is breathtaking, it’s the best place to end your month while sipping a cup of Baguio coffee.
