This place of worship was included in UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 1995. The Joseon Dynasty Kings visited this shrine to worship. This is where the Jongmyo Jaerye (memorial service) took place upon the orders of the king. This practice is said to be one of the oldest complete ceremonies.
