Intramuros is known for having a lot of museums that highlight history and culture. But did you know there’s actually a museum there devoted to Philippine-made liquor where you can actually drink? The Destileria Limtuaco Museum, which was opened to the public in 2018, pays homage to the oldest and largest distillery in the Philippines founded in 1852.

Visitors can learn more about the traditional process of distilling spirits, how bottling (and packaging) of the brands we know have evolved over the years and even see the iconic red bikini sported by one of the White Castle Whiskey models. The best part of the museum visit is the optional liquor tasting. The museum has its own bar where guests 18 and above can sample the different spirits including Siok Tong, a Chinese herbal wine that’s been around for more than 150 years and Philippine craft spirits like sugarcane wine, mango rum, premium lambanog or coconut vodka, and coffee liqueur highlighting local flavors and ingredients. Now that’s my kind of museum!
