Mount Moiwa is a forested mountain southwest of central Sapporo that offers a spectacular panoramic city view from its observation deck at the summit at 531 m (1742.1 ft). While it’s possible to hike the mountain trails, most visitors just take the cable car to the middle of the mountain and then from there take another mini cable car to the very top. This is a popular date spot for couples, as the observatory contains a ‘‘Fortune bell” and ‘‘Love padlock” area, which is believed to bring good fortune to relationships.
