If you welcomed the vacay season with lots of Vitamin Sea, why don’t you cap off the last month of summer with extreme adventures you haven’t tried before? Check your bucket list and add these exciting suggestions that will surely make this year’s summer extra memorable:

Weekend 1: Canyoneering at Biliran

A post shared by Michael🇵🇭 (@2408mike) on

Start the month by braving it out and trying intense adventures like canyoneering. While Cebu is the go-to place for this activity, the little province of Biliran is a quiet, less touristy place where you can have an extreme canyoneering experience you wouldn’t forget. Head to Sampao River in Barangay Sampao, Almeria and take in the beauty of 15 majestic waterfalls where you can hike, slide, rappel, swim, and jump off a cliff.

You can contact Trexplore the Adventures for trained guides plus safety equipment for this activity. You can also check out other awesome places in the Philippines for canyoneering here.

Weekend 2: Spelunking in Aglipay Cave, Quirino

Quirino is often an overlooked destination, but we tell you, there’s a lot to do in this scenic place.  Explore the Aglipay Caves and traverse through the muddy path and fascinating caves. There are 37 in total, but you can only explore 8. This adventure can be really tiring, but the thrill lies within the hidden wonders of the caves.

If you’re game to try spelunking, you can directly contact Quirino Tourism Board through the contact details posted on their website.

Weekend 3: Vertical Bivouac in Bukidnon

Love extreme adventures? Then include vertical bivouac in your ultimate bucket list. This overnight activity includes a series of hiking, rock climbing, and rappelling over a 580 feet limestone wall in Bukidnon. The wall, called Kiokong White Wall, is a picturesque rock formation— it’s daunting, but it can be very exciting for adrenaline junkies. Warning though, this is not for the faint-hearted and you have to be physically fit before signing up.

For more details about this activity, you can contact the agency owners through their Facebook page.

Weekend 4: Surfing at Gubat, Sorsogon

Siargao, Baler and La Union may be the frequent surfing spots, but how about riding the waves in Sorsogon? Gubat, Sorsogon recently emerged as a surfing destination and it’s a chill place to practice your skills and get better, if you’re a beginner. It’s pretty picturesque, too. Perfect for going off the grid and opening yourself up to new adventures.

For surf lessons and accommodations, there are great places like the Lola Sayong Surf Camp and Buenavista Surf Camp.
