Taipei is a wonderful city that excites all the senses, but most especially the palate. A true paradise for avid foodies, the capital of Taiwan boasts a vibrant culinary scene brimming with some of the world’s tastiest and most exotic bites. Needless to say, going on a food excursion is imperative during your visit. Here are six epicurean experiences you don’t want to miss when in the city.
1. Start your day with a Taiwanese breakfast.
The locals don’t take the most important meal of the day lightly, and so shouldn’t you! Kick off your day of food tripping with a hearty Taiwanese breakfast — a fixture in the Taiwanese diet, which is usually composed of youtiao (fried crullers), onion pancakes, omelettes, dumplings, and soy milk to wash everything down. Taiwanese breakfast joints are easy to spot, as they are littered across the city and are among the busiest places in the morning.
