A lot of people prefer hiking up to the summit of mountains, but there are many other natural wonders that you can visit around the country. A hill is a landform that extends above the surrounding terrain. It often has a distinct summit but is largely marked by flat and rolling terrain.

Here are just a few provinces around the Philippines where you can spot these geological wonders for your “Sound of Music” moment.

Bohol

The most famous hill formation in the country is undoubtedly the Chocolate Hills in the island province of Bohol. Not only is this tourist attraction featured at the back of our Philippine currency, but it’s been declared the country’s third National Geological Monument.
