Is this real life or is this a movie set?

There’s a growing network of restaurants and locations to visit for cities and provinces in the north, including Bulacan. Our latest recommendation is Cafe Congreso, a pastel coffee wonderland in Malolos, Bulacan that’s a definite Instagram feed dream.

Pretty in pastel
Step right in Cafe Congreso and you’ll feel like you’re instantly transported into a movie set — a Wes Anderson movie set, to be more precise.

The interiors of this pretty pastel cafe are inspired by the director’s 2014 movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel. The soft shades of pink and mint with the golden accents are instantly refreshing, as opposed to the usual dark earthy tones of most coffee shops.

Cafe Congreso has been in the works since 2016 and serving patrons since 2017, and they’ve definitely got their look and aesthetic on point. Everything about the cafe is carefully curated from the chairs and tables to the countertops and shelves to even the plates and glasses, and they all come together to create this beautiful space where you can enjoy coffee.
Locally aesthetic
To support the local industry, their espresso blends and single-origin coffees come from local roasters.

Along with their specialty coffee, you can order all-day breakfast meals, pasta, and pizza for a sumptuous meal. Make sure you try their burgers, too! Their bestseller is the Double Cheeseburger, which looks straight out of a food magazine.

But if you’re only craving something sweet to go with your coffee, you can always order a pastry or sample some of their homemade ice cream flavors.
