After all, we need a break and treat ourselves to a breather – activities that would recharge the soul and feel inspired again. But that doesn’t mean you’ll have to break the bank to feel relaxed or have a change of scenery. Nestled in Tanay, Bahay Hayahay offers a nature experience under P1k:

An outdoor adventure at Bahay Hayahay

Bahay Hayahay Tanay greets its guest with a fun adventure, starting with getting to the property. You will need to ride a 4WD vehicle or a 2D pickup as its location remains off-grid, which is perfect for travelers seeking some time away from the noise of the city. Bahay Hayahay is in Tanay, Rizal, which is about a two-and-a-half to three-hour drive from the metro.

Bring out the adventurer in you and prepare to rough it out at Bahay Hayahay. There are two main accommodations here, which are tree houses that overlook the flowing river.

Their designs are identical, with levels that feature snap-worthy lounging areas, such as this corner with bean bags on the top floor of the treehouse. Rates start at P2,000 per night at these bamboo houses.

But for those who are on a budget and want to have the camping experience, you may pitch your own tent and pay an overnight fee of P300 per night.

If you don’t have a tent yet, you can rent for P500, which is already inclusive of pillows and a blanket.

Outdoor activities

For thrill-seekers, here are some of the activities that await at Bahay Hayahay. There are various free activities to do here, including swimming, starting a bonfire at night, fishing, stargazing, and playing volleyball. For guests with kids, they can fly kites here too.

Make the most out of the riverside location and try the River Tubing experience for P300 each (for a group of five or more), which already includes a tour guide, life vest, and lifebuoy.

You can also explore the nearby Hayahay Falls starting at P200 each for a group of five.
