Exploring every nook and cranny of a new place brings a stimulating sensation of discovery, which is why there is no rest for the curious traveler. Some chase this sensation through a walking tour or hopping into different modes of transportation; but to some travelers the idea of renting a bicycle is becoming common practice.
Here are the best places in the country where you can pedal through quiet roads and scenic routes.
Batanes

Panglao Island, Bohol

Angono, Rizal
Travel blogger Celine Reyes raves about how she discovered more about her home turf by riding her bicycle through the turns and corners of Angono in Rizal.
“Here [in Angono], art is everywhere–from the murals along the streets to the larger-than-life sculptures that punctuate every corner—so riding around town is really a treat. But my favorite destination would be the Angono Lakeside Park or “Wawa” to us locals. It’s a piece of the outdoors right in the heart of a semi-urban town. From here, you can literally ride into the sunset. It’s quite magical!”

Olango Island
LaiAriel Samangka cited his travel experience while exploring Olango on a bicycle. “Bicycling the whole island and taking advantage of the island’s landscape was beyond compare. The roads are very easy, navigable and have flat topography. Aside from the usual provincial town scenes, the long paved roads are almost devoid of other vehicles making you enjoy the island more as you relish the awesome scenery along the way.”
Siargao
Mayan Benedicto’s job at The Cebruery has taken her to many places in the Philippines. To this day, she swears by the splendor of the surfing island of Siargao and raves about her experiences roaming it aboard a two-wheeled ride.
“Siargao Island is one of the most—if not the most breathtaking—islands I’ve seen in the Philippines. It has more than just the typical view you see all over the country—a stretch of coconut trees on one side, and the beautiful Pacific Ocean inviting you to jump in and ride the waves on the other side. It’s a little island with very few four-wheeled vehicles, so the roads are always clear. You get to breathe in the fresh air that surrounds you and get an unobstructed view of the place.”
