Fondly called “coffin bread,” this Tainanese delicacy introduced in the early 1940s is a thick piece of toast served often with a seafood and veggie chowder center. Other popular fillings of guancai ban are curry, chicken, and even ham and cheese. Simply put: It’s to die for.
