Located in Arashiyama, the temple is scenic during autumn. It is one of the great Zen temples in the city and is also a UNESCO heritage site. The ruling shogun at the time had it constructed sometime in the late 1330s. Walk around to see various shades of red, yellow and orange. Despite the crowds coming and going, you can still enjoy autumn’s colors.
