6 of the Hippest Places to Stay in Baler
They're all Instagram-worthy too!

Baler has always been one of the go-to places for wave junkies, and the hottest spots there don’t include luxury villas—definitely not the ones for those who fancy old-time grandeur. Instead, the coolest places in Baler consist of trendy and homey accommodations which feature arts and trinkets that will make you want to soak up the good vibes. Not sure where to stay? Here’s a list to get you started:
Cote Resort
PHP7,500++ per night inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner
(+632) 893.4725 | coteresort.com.ph
The boutique surf resort has 6 uniquely designed cabins complete with all the amenities that you need for a chill weekend getaway. Designed using two 20-foot container vans, each cabin is equipped with a king or twin sized bed, toilet and shower and air-conditioning. If surfing is not your cup of tea, other activities in the resort include hiking or night campfires under the stars.
(Tip: The resort offers a 12-seater van so you can book your ride from Manila for PHP8,000).
The Easy Adventure
PHP2,300 per person for one night, two days in quadruple sharing, inclusive of breakfast, lunch, merienda and dinner on a weekday, and PHP3,200 for the same package on a weekend.

If you’re up for eco-luxe camping (also known as glamping) then this is the perfect place to stay. The campsite, which is right in front of a beach and a palm-fringed river, offers weather-proof tents that are good for up to four guests (all with comfortable beds, private outdoor picnic table, rechargeable lamps and a fan). If the bathroom and shower situation is something that concerns you, the place has six clean toilets and four outdoor showers.
(Tip: You can opt for full-coverage package for three days, two nights—it includes an hour of surf lessons, a dune buggy ride and four hours on the kayak. Rates start at PHP6,000 for quadruple sharing.)
The Circle Hostel Baler
Starts at PHP350 for the hammock, inclusive of breakfast
(+63) 917.501.0235 | baler.thecirclehostel.com
The budget-friendly hostel has become popular for artsy beach heads from the metro. The vibe is very relaxed with colorful paintings mostly done by guests. They offer private rooms (Cuddle room and Buddy room), co-ed and female dorms and hammocks with built in mosquito nets.
(Tip: There’s a cooking area so you can save a few bucks and unleash your inner chef by bringing your own food.)
Nalu Surf Camp
Starts at PHP6,500 per night for quadruple sharing
(+63) 917.817.2606 | facebook page
Get to wake up to the sound of crashing waves at this beach front property. Everything here is spacious—from the rooms to the lounge areas. They also host bonfire nights for their guests.
(Tip: Get an hour of surf lesson for PHP350. It’s inclusive of board and instructor with a free picture and a beer.)
Hotel Motel Charlie Does Inn
Starts at PHP1,500 for a room good for two
(+63) 917.718.5742 | facebook page
The ambiance is very cozy with container vans transformed into beautifully designed and spacious fan rooms equipped with private toilet and bath. The place is quite small (only five rooms) so you’re promised to have all the attention of their friendly staff. They can also make arrangements for surf lessons and tours around Baler.
(Tip: Everyone is raving about their coffee! Also, if you’re really on a budget, they have an area where you can hang a hammock.)
Aura Marina Sands Beach Resort
Starts at PHP3,500 for a room good for two, inclusive of breakfast
(+63) 977.219.5934 | facebook page
The concept boutique resort offers refurnished container cottages with rustic wooden décor. Just a 15 minute-drive from Baler’s surfing spots, their infinity pool with an unblocked view of the ocean makes it an ideal place for a weary traveler. The place is also surrounded with lush greenery which makes the vibe even more relaxing.
(Tip: They mainly offer Singaporean food in their restaurant but they can cook other dishes upon request.)
