Getting Around
Driving a scooter or a motorbike is the best way to get around Bali if it hasn’t been too obvious yet. Taking the local taxi or Uber constantly does cost a bit more so save it for the long distance destinations.
Now, whatever vehicle you’re on anywhere in Indonesia, it’s LHT (left-hand traffic) just so you know. So wear a helmet and take it nice and easy — you’re on vacation after all.
Local Flavor
Composed of Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and foreigners alike so if you’re curious about Bali’s food culture, I’d say it gets just as diverse as the population in it so be ready. Though not as instagram-worthy, I’d personally recommend the local warungs. Dishes are a lot like Filipino food but spicier, reasonably priced, and just as delicious!
Things To Do
Bali isn’t just about surfing and partying, really. You could learn more about the Hindu culture, visit their temples, watch rituals, rejuvenate in Ubud, conquer volcano treks and if you still have enough time and money, check out Nusa Lembongan or the famous Gili Islands.
Oh yeah the list goes on so don’t worry.
At the end of the day, Bali’s just another teaser to what Indonesia can bring to the tourism table. If you missed out on something crucial during that first trip, now you know exactly what those savings and seat sales are for.
