The country’s most popular beach destinations are truly world-class, but they can get really crowded, especially during peak season. While these destinations are worth visiting, there are still plenty of lesser-known destinations around the country that are as picturesque. This includes Borawan Island in Quezon – here’s what awaits on the island:
Borawan Island Resort
If you don’t want to fly to popular beach destinations like Coron, Palawan, and Boracay, and seek a getaway that’s away from the crowd, go for a four-hour drive to Quezon and discover the beauty of Borawan. Locals named the island as such due to its white sand beach similar to Boracay’s and gigantic rock formations that will remind you of Palawan’s.

The sand isn’t as powdery as Boracay’s but it’s still a sight to behold.

Other than taking the usual day trip and going island hopping, you can stay overnight here at Borawan Island Resort. Sure, they’ve already built comfy cottages and rooms, but for the castaway feels, try beach camping.
The island has three stations (just like Boracay) and the entrance fee to the first two is only P220 per person for an overnight stay. You need to go on a boat ride to get to the island, so just in case you don’t want to bring all your camping gear, you can rent one for P500 a night. Each tent is good for two to three people.

After a day of island hopping, playing beach games, or getting tan, retreat to your own little home by the beach. At night, go stargazing or jamming with the sounds of crashing waves in the background.
How to get there
Whether you’re riding a bus to Lucena or bringing your car, alight at Aplaya in Padre Burgos, Quezon. There are plenty of boats that can get you to the island or you can avail of the boat rental the resort offers. The boat fare is at P1,000 for eight people, which will take you from the pier to Borawan Island and vice versa.
Location, Rates, and How to Book
