Luca Guadagnino’s masterpiece dominated this year’s awards season; Call Me By Your Name, which tells the story of Elio, a seventeen-year-old boy who falls in love with Oliver, a handsome American graduate student who stays with his family during the summer of 1983, earned four Academy Award nominations, with one being Best Picture.
Throughout the two-hour film, the viewers won’t only fall in love with the two and their budding relationship, but also with the film’s quaint setting. Thanks to cinematographer Sayombhu Mukdeeprom, the film was able to incorporate its setting as one of its characters, making it as vital as its human counterpart.
