Casa Gatchalian: This Beachfront Restobar in Batangas Looks Like an Ancestral Home

Your next favorite hidden spot in Batangas.
by | October 19, 2021

While a drive to Batangas will often lead you to Tagaytay or popular beach destinations like San Juan and Calatagan, there’s still so much to see in the province. If you’re looking for a new restaurant to try for your next weekend day trip, try going to San Luis and this seaside restaurant might be your next favorite discovery.

Casa Gatchalian Resto Bar

Nestled in the coastal town of San Luis, Casa Gatchalian Resto Bar will give you a whiff of nostalgia with its ancestral-home-like interiors. It’s like driving to your childhood home or a relative’s old house in the province — a trip that gives a feeling of comfort.

Wooden floors and furniture, capiz shell windows, and shelves displaying old sewing machines, china dinnerware, and trinkets blend perfectly to create a warm feeling and rustic ambiance for the restaurant. It’s no wonder why it’s a favorite venue for family gatherings and celebrations by locals.

Combine it with the view you’ll get from the restaurant, the calming sea, and you might’ve just found your next favorite hidden spot in Batangas.

While you can appreciate the view from the second floor of the resto-bar, you can also dine alfresco where you’ll get an unobstructed sea view. Just imagine dining here before sunset with the company of your family or friends, the cool breeze, comfort food, and the waves of the sea as your music – it’s truly healing.

Can’t get enough of this hidden beachfront spot? You can extend your visit by staying overnight in one of their air-conditioned rooms for P3,500 a night.

The day tour rate is at P150 per head while the night tour rate is at P200 per head.

The Menu

Much like the feeling of comfort you get when visiting the province, Casa Gatchalian’s menu will make you feel like coming home to your grandparents and finally having their cooking. They serve all-time fave Filipino dishes like silog meals starting at P100 and main courses like Crispy Kare-Kare (P300), Pan-Grilled Rib-Eye (P500), and Sisig (P200).

Since you’re in Batangas already, try the classic Special Lomi (P90) or Chicken Chami (P80) if you’re visiting for merienda.

The resto also serves coffee and non-coffee beverages, as well as cocktails that you can enjoy during happy hour. See their full menu here.

Casa Gatchalian Resto Bar is located at Dulangan, San Luis, Batangas.
