Christmas in Japan is more of a celebration for couples where they stroll from one Christmas market to another, spending time together. The deals at these Christmas bazaars are quite a steal so it wouldn’t be too bad to try going with the family. There’s the German-themed Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Christmas Market (November 25 to December 25) and the Roppongi Hills Christmas Market (November 25 to December 25).

Japan also has a number of winter illuminations that are a colorful treat for the whole family. This includes the Tokyo Dome City Winter Illumination (November 9 to February 18, 2017) which this year features an amazing collection of LEDs all over various structures. It will have sweet themed displays including a Hansel and Gretel type of cottage.

This year’s Tokyo German Village Winter Illumination (November 1 to April 8, 2018) is themed “great adventure” and will feature attractions such as the rainbow LED tunnel and a field of lights. Aside from the lights, they also will have a Ferris wheel set up and German food sold in different stalls.

Kyzia spends most of her time capturing the world around her through photos, paragraphs, and playlists. She is constantly on the hunt for the perfect chocolate chip cookie, and a great paperback thriller to pair with it.
