Did the Boracay Closure Really Help the Island?

Do we need another 6-month closure?

The island was once dubbed as a ‘cesspool’ by current President Rodrigo Duterte, due to its hazardous environmental conditions. Environmental Secretary Roy Cimatu now claims that the island is “no longer a cesspool, but an island whose waters passed the standards fit for swimming.”
