Did the Boracay Closure Really Help the Island?

Do we need another 6-month closure?

Officials on the island released a set of much stricter rules that tourists traveling to Boracay should abide to. Included in the rules is the banning of all water activities (banana boat rides, etc.) and the annual Laboracay event; smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages are also prohibited along the beach.
