When thinking of going to Batangas, travelers usually picture warm days out at the sea. But the coastal province has pockets of greenery too, from mountains to hike to farm stays like this rustic house in Lipa. For your next nature getaway, check out Ginhawa:
An overnight stay at Ginhawa
Fondly-named Ginhawa, this 150sqm Quonset-style house is set on a 6,000 sqm forest in Lipa. The property is at the foot of Mt. Malarayat, so imagine being surrounded by lush greenery and having the calming sounds of nature as your background noise during your stay. If escaping the city and feeling completely calm in nature is what you’re looking for, Ginhawa offers the perfect holiday experience.
With a sustainable holiday in mind, the house was created by a Dutch designer and developed with permaculture design ethics and principles in mind. It may not look that big in photos, but this cozy home can accommodate up to 10 guests per stay, with three different bedrooms.
You’ll find the first bedroom on the ground floor, which is a canopy queen bed.
The rest are in the mezzanine: a queen bed, two single beds, a sofa bed, and an air mattress. Lipa is known as a cool city and with the forest setting, expect that nights will be cold here too.
There are two lounging areas at Ginhawa: one on the ground floor and another on the mezzanine.
You’ll also find office space, which makes a great reading nook. No working while on holiday!
Dining
Mealtimes are one of the best parts of a vacation. From the grocery shopping to the actual cooking – it’s a whole exciting experience. There are plenty of grocery and market options in Lipa City, so there’s no need to bring ingredients all the way from the metro. Have your meals prepared in-house at its two full kitchens. It even has a brick oven, so don’t forget to buy ingredients for pizza.
The spacious dining area is also on the ground floor, just beside the living area.
