Ever rode a kalesa before? Kyoto in Japan also has its own version of our kalesa, except that instead of a horse, the vehicle is carried by a human. Yup, an actual person. It’s called jinrikisha, and it’s a Japanese traditional vehicle that is now used for tourism and entertainment. It’s one of the best ways to tour around Kyoto, especially during cherry blossoms season since you can view the scenery from above eye level. The rickshaw pullers will gladly take you to the best spots in the area, so you definitely need to consider this the next time you head to Kyoto.
