Tired of drawing plans with friends that never push through? Instead of going for the usual summer outing, why don’t you try learning about Manila’s rich history instead? Organized by the cultural organization Renacimiento Manila, here are the various Heritage Walks your barkada can join this month of April:
Appreciate the beauty of Old Manila
If you’re someone who loves history, old architecture, guided tours, and walking, you’ll feel right at home when you meet the team behind Renacimiento Manila, which also translates to “Rebirth Manila”. Dedicated to conserving and promoting the beauty of Old Manila, the organization comprising volunteers holds monthly Heritage Walks in different parts of Manila City. Check out their schedule for the month of April 2023:
Tondo Heritage Walk
Pasig River Heritage Appreciation Walk
San Nicolas Heritage Walk
Quiapo Heritage Walk
This month, they’re also launching the first Ermita Heritage Walk, which focuses on the Arroceros-San Marcelino-Taft Area:
How much will it cost?
Should you decide to participate, you’ll be joining a group with up to 35 participants and paying a registration fee of PHP 300.
Don’t forget to wear sunscreen and comfortable shoes, bring a water tumbler and a cap or umbrella, and be ready to take a scenic stroll around the city. Make friends as well!
