PSA: Ilocos Norte is Open to NCR Tourists Again; Here’s What You Need to Know

Confident to travel again? As more Filipinos get fully vaccinated, different provinces in Luzon are slowly reopening to tourists from other regions, helping the tourism and travel industries bounce back from the pandemic. As of September 24, 2021, Ilocos Norte is open to tourists from NCR and its neighboring provinces again.
Ilocos Norte opens to tourists again
Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in March, Ilocos Norte closed its triage to tourists from NCR and other neighboring provinces including Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite. But as of September 24, 2021, Ilocos Norte Tourism announced the reopening of the province to guests from these locations, giving Pinoys more options for their next long weekend or holiday getaway.

What are the travel requirements?
To ensure a hassle-free and responsible travel, here are the Ilocos Norte travel requirements as of September 24, 2021:
- Registration at ilocosnorte.ph.
- Confirmed booking from Accredited Accommodation or Travel Agency. Check the list here.
- QR Code from Safe Pass
- Negative COVID-19 Test result; maybe an RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours, antigen test taken within 24 hours before travel, or an antigen test taken upon arrival

Who is eligible for travel to Ilocos Norte?
If you’re coming from a Level 4 location, all individuals are eligible except for persons below 18 years old and above 65 years old, with health risks, and pregnant women.
For tourists coming from locations under GCQ or MGCQ or Alert Levels 1,2,3, all individuals are eligible for travel.
