Makati is more than just the country’s central business district. Beyond its towering skyscrapers are hidden gems where you can relax, dine, and experience different cultures. For the first time ever, the Department of Tourism is launching a sightseeing bus that will go around Makati. Here’s what we know about the HOHO bus tour so far:
Philippine Hop On Hop Off (HOHO) Travel By the Hubs
On May 28, the Department of Tourism – National Capital Region (DOT-NCR) launched the Hop-On Hop-Off, an integrated travel system bus tour in Makati City. This tour is targeted towards locals and foreigners who wish to explore what the city has to offer by providing various tourism hubs in a single connected trip.
The DOT is also opening a cultural hub in the City of Manila in June. There are also plans to launch in other cities in Metro Manila, then in other cities in the Philippines.
Places to visit
According to Mayor Abby Binay, the tour would have eight stops:
- Activity Area, Ayalla Malls Glorietta
- Washington SyCip Park
- RCBC Plaza
- Circuit Makati
- Century City Mall
- Museo ng Makati
- Rockwell Center
- Ayala Triangle
How much will it cost?
The HOHO bus tour isn’t free. Travelers can avail of a P990 one-day pass, with unlimited access to the stops. Those with Makatizen cards can also enjoy a 40% discount when they use the HOHO tour bus.
When can I experience the tour?
The bus tour will be fully operational sometime this month. Tickets will be purchasable via a dedicated website and app. The tour will operate on Wednesdays to Fridays, from 10 AM to 6 PM.
