According to MUJI, the hotel was built by an in-house design team at Ryohin Keikaku Co. following the “anti-gorgeous, anti-cheap concept.” More than it being a place meant for rest and relaxation for Shenzhen locals and tourists, MUJI Hotel is the physical experience of MUJI’s core philosophy of providing simple, functional and brand-less products without the “exorbitant prices and superfluous service”.
