Zongzi is a type of glutinous rice dumpling that contains a variety of savory fillings like mung beans, Chinese sausage, and Chinese Black mushrooms among others. Dubbed as the “Taiwanese tamale”, this rice dumpling is wrapped in bamboo, reed, or other large flat leaves and is either steamed or boiled.

Where to get it: Zongzi is available all over Taiwan, but local markets are the best places to look.
