Located in Southern Batangas, the peninsula is more known for the diving resorts of Anilao. Soon enough these divers explored the hills along Calumpan Peninsula and Gulugod-Baboy immediately became a hiking destination.

The minor climb will give you a view of Janao Bay, Maricaban Strait, a distant Mindoro, Verde Island, and Batangas bay. The rolling hills, a great breeze, and a spectacular view of the waters will make you want to come back.

How to prepare: Plan ahead if you want a day hike or an overnight stay. You can opt to have a guide with you or you can do a DIY tour since the trail is pretty straightforward enough. If you’re staying for the night, however, book a guide.

Tours: You can opt to have a DIY tour of the mountain and hire a guide at the drop-off point.

Other sights to see: Sumbrero Island, Maricaban Island, Anilao diving

SEPTEMBER: Mt. Daguldol, Batangas
