Pinoy locals are already aware of the sheer beauty of Palawan’s Islands, but it’s only lately that the beloved tourist destination is making headlines across the world. After CN Traveler named Palawan as Best Island in the World in 2015, and most recently the Calamian Group of Islands as the new contender for the same accolade, Palawan is definitely making its mark on travel bucket lists as a must-visit summer beach getaway.
Palawan’s untouched beauty is unlike anywhere else in the Philippines. It never is too crowded with tourists and commercial spots, it’s full of natural wonders for you to immerse yourself in, and there’s just so much to do that a few days will hardly seem enough to get the full island experience.
You may think you can do fine with just the usual water activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, and cliff jumping, but what you can do on land isn’t to be missed either. There are historical museums to visit to further understand the past of Palawan, there are paths you can hike and explore, and there is a Calauit Wildlife Park that houses a number of endangered African and Philippine species that roam freely.
Never will you hear anyone say that Palawan isn’t worth coming back to. This drone video will help show you why.
Planning on going there soon? Here’s a nifty guide on how to go about your Palawan beach crawl and some ideas on where you could stay within the island.
