One of the most striking features you will see will be the intricate metalworks that are evident everywhere, from the golden designs of the second-floor balcony to the rims of the tables and chairs on display. Signature Chinese architecture also abounds, from curiously-shaped windows to red curtains on either side of double-doors.
The mansion also takes after some of the other traditional houses in Penang, in that it has skylights for a roof! The transparent overhead allows a lot of natural light to come in, striking the gilded surfaces of some of the interior parts. And aside from Chinese architecture, there are also various types of furniture exhibited in each room. Some rooms have regal European trappings, while others have crude wooden fixtures!
