Revisiting Glory at Penang’s Peranakan Mansion

There are imported items as well, such as Victorian-era glass domes called Gelati Tutup. These domes housed beautiful dolls. There’s also an ancient baby cart, and various cooking implements in the kitchen (yes, it’s a wonder why the baby cart was there).

Of course, such a place would not be complete without a section dedicated to the Peranakan ancestors. A temple-like area is also located within the mansion complex, though in a separate compound. The place has ancestral tablets which are works of art in themselves.
