Top Places to See in Central Japan

Take a walk back into the Edo period.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, one of the places you can visit while in central Japan is Kamikochi. This park has flat trails and peaks you can climb up to during the right season. The flatter paths are available as long as the park is open.

The walk through any trail is scenic, with views of the sometimes snow-capped peaks, clear ponds that may act as mirrors on a clear day and a marsh. The walk is easy as long as you stay on the flat pathways. The views are picturesque and are a contrast to the big cities of Nagoya and Matsumoto. You can get to the park as a day trip from Matsumoto City.
