Ever wondered what it’s like to be in a celebrity’s home? While River Garden Rest House isn’t where Marjorie Barretto normally lives, the private property has been a vacation home for her family for over 23 years. And this slice of paradise can be yours too for a night or two.

River Garden Rest House

“This is where the kids grew up. We have so much memories here,” Marjorie Barretto shares in a YouTube video where she did a tour of her family’s vacation home. Nestled in Calumpit, Bulacan, River Garden Rest House has been her family’s rest house for more than two decades. In the video, she shares that going to the “Ilog” meant some time off at this cozy and relaxing space.

This property was made with Marjorie’s love for design and she curated the place using items she’s collected over the years. She likes antique pieces, which you can see around the riverside home: from chairs and tables to old paintings.

Surrounded by lush greenery, the rest house features various lounging areas where families or friends can gather to make new memories. This includes the pavilion that features a stunning grotto with flowing water. It’s also the house’s mess hall, where the family would gather for meals. The rest house also has a fully equipped kitchen, including a spacious BBQ grill.

She also shares that she designed the place to look like a Filipino home, which you can see in the materials it’s made with, such as pawid roofs,  bamboo, and capiz shell windows. Marjorie said she wants the place to feel like coming home to a provincial home, which is always comforting.

One of her family’s favorite places on the property is the gazebo by the river. This is where they have their afternoon snacks and enjoy the mesmerizing waters, especially during sunrise and sunset. You can also shop for fresh fish from the fishermen here!

There was only one master bedroom when it was initially developed, but it has now expanded to four rustic spaces, all with different sleeping arrangements that can accommodate up to a group of 15 during each stay.

There’s also a private swimming pool perfect for hot days. In the video, Marjorie recalls it was built using the P500,000 she won from a variety show, Pera o Bayong. The pool still has its original design as well.

Rates at River Garden Resthouse start at P25,000 per night for a group of 15 or less.
