Salar De Uyuni

Slightly off the beaten path, 100% fun.

This is what makes up the Salar de Uyuni desert.

It is located in Southwestern Bolivia, 413 kms from the capital of La Paz, the highest capital city in the world, where all the inbound flights to the country are headed to. It may take up to 3 connecting flights and over 24 hours in the air from Asia as South America is not a common destination. Good news for Philippine Passport holders, the visa is free on arrival and lasts up to 90 days in the country. I had to pay over $150 with my USA passport. That could have been more than 3 weeks of alcohol allowance. Good thing is that it is valid for ten years.
