Conveniently located in Ayala Malls Circuit Makati, The Bouldering Hive offers an indoor bouldering gym that folks can enjoy without leaving the city. Bouldering is a fun activity that will help you get started with climbing; you won’t need ropes and harnesses and you’ll land safely on a crash mat.

If you’re a beginner, don’t feel intimidated — there are coaches who will introduce the sport. The Bouldering Hive actually offers an Intro to Bouldering class, which will only take an hour. This class will teach you the basics of bouldering and safety principles, proper climbing gym etiquette, and general climbing tips and tricks.

Bring a water bottle, socks, and climbing shoes. If you don’t have shoes yet, you may rent shoes at the gym.

When you need a break

Did you forget to bring a snack or in need of a caffeine boost? The Bouldering Hive has partnered with Good Sh*t Coffee for their line of coffees and fresh pastries. As of writing, they offer Cold Brew, Cold Brew Latte, Horchata, and Ube Horchata.

They also have a selection of pastries to choose from, which rotate by the month. For October 2023, they’re offering cheese rolls, spinach puffs, turonutella, triple choco cookies, and revel bars.

How much are their rates?

You can get started with bouldering for as low as PHP650 for a Day Pass. They also offer an Off-Peak rate of P550 for a day pass, which you can only purchase on weekdays until 4 PM.
