Koh Samui wouldn’t be part of Thailand if you didn’t see any Buddhist temples. Big Buddha Temple or Wat Phra Yai is a great place to visit after beach bumming and doing water sports. The 12m high statue was built in the early 1970s. If you’re familiar with Buddhism, you’ll notice the Mara posture of the statue.
