Nothing planned for this month of July? Here are just a few of the things happening around Metro Manila where you can beat the rainy day boredom!
For the art lovers
Head out to different art galleries around the Metro and view some newly opened exhibits running all month long.
District Gallery, a newly organized art gallery in Quezon City, opens its inaugural show called Inhabit which gathers artists of different disciplines to create pieces inspired by the theme of adaptive reuse of empty spaces. The exhibit will run until July 23.
At the Yuchengco Museum is the Future’s Past photo exhibit by German photographer and Berghain club doorman Sven Marquardt which will run until August 11. It examines the humanity of Berlin locals and German subcultures through a collection of black-and-white photos.
The Metropolitan Museum of Manila likewise launched a new exhibit, Distinct Refinements: Painting from the Provinces — a curation of paintings by artists from different provinces all over the country. It will be available for viewing at the MET Tall Galleries until October 28.
For lovers of Japanese cinema
EIGASAI Japanese Film Festival is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year by bringing to us a varied roster of Japanese films, ranging from comedy to thriller, from documentary to animation. From July 1 to August 29, you can catch these handpicked masterpieces at EDSA Shangri-La, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, and more. You can find out more about the festival through its official Facebook page.
