The show features one country per episode, with Cebu, Philippines being one of them. Other countries featured in the first season are Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and India.

Aside from the local delicacies, Street Food also put a spotlight on the people responsible for the mouth-watering treats. From the Cebu episode, the show introduces Mang Florencio “Entoy” Escabas, the 71-year-old owner of Entoy’s Bakasihan. Bakasi is a Cebuano term for reef eels, the main ingredient of his dishes. His signature dish is the Nilarang Bakasi (Soured Stew with Reef Eel), which is also a native Cebuano dish. Through his business, Entoy was able to help not only his family, but also his entire village have a stable livelihood.

Mang Entoy’s story is just one of the many inspiring stories featured in the first season of Street Food, as viewers will meet various people across Asia through the food they serve. You can watch Street Food only on Netflix.
