Nara is a place that history buffs will love. The UNESCO-listed Kasuga-taisha Shrine is a must, if you have time to spare in Nara. The complex is in a forest, giving it a mysterious ambiance. The red color and the design of the shrine will remind you of Fushimi Inari near Kyoto.
