This ancient temple is not just famous in the region, but in the whole country. Its most well-known attraction is the Daibutsu or Great Buddha. The statue stands 16m high and elicits a sense of awe and tranquility from those that see it. This temple was designated as a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site because of its cultural and historical importance.
