This UNESCO-listed attraction is a good day trip just outside of downtown Beijing. This sprawling garden and former residence of royalty is a perfect example of Chinese landscaping and horticulture. The sections you can visit include Longevity Hall, Court Area and Kunming Lake. The best time to visit is autumn where you’ll see the different colors of the season.
