Constructed during the Safavid Empire, the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque is one of the most celebrated renowned wonder of Iranian-Islamic architecture thanks to its intricate tile-work and colorful mosaics. Unlike a typical mosque, the Sheikh Lotfollah doesn’t contain a minaret or a courtyard, as it was intended to be a private place of worship exclusive for women of Shah Abbas Harem when it was first opened.
