A new year travel bucket list isn’t complete without a new climbing destination, so cross mountain climbing off first thing in the new year! Beginners can opt for Mount Masalakot in Lobo, Batangas, a minor climb with a difficulty rating of 3/10, but still challenging enough for noobs.

For experienced hikers, the Lalayag Monolith at the mountain’s ridge is a more challenging climb. Whichever you choose, both offer a majestic view of the rain forest — the kind of view that will inspire you to jump-start your year with positivity.
