The Atom Bomb leveled Nagasaki in 1945, killing thousands; the after effects lasted years after, but the city managed to recover as exemplified by the construction of the Peace Park and statue. The park is a symbol for the hopes of a better tomorrow and a constant reminder of the damage of nuclear warfare. Spend an afternoon walking around, looking at the artwork or simply enjoying nature.
