Looking for a new and exciting camping experience for the weekend? Geodesic domes, typically used as shelters, greenhouses, warehouses, water reservoirs and entertainment spots abroad, seem to be the latest trend in glamping or “glamorous camping” set-ups in the country.
Nature-lovers will probably be interested in “dome glamping” for the novelty factor since these architecturally-unique structures look like something out of a sci-fi flick! Here are a couple of places near Manila where you can try dome glamping.
Domescape, Batangas
Domescape is said to be the first of its kind in the Philippines. Officially opened in March 2019, this secluded glamping spot aims to give guests a way to experience raw nature without having to sacrifice comfort. The site, nestled within a lush 1.5 hectare property less than 3 hours away from Manila (or an hour away from Tagaytay) offers a secret hideaway.

Their geodesic dome is more than a tent. Outfitted with creature comforts akin to staying in a luxury hotel, the unique accommodation opens up to a view of the great outdoors. Most parts of the property were left untouched to provide a truly authentic experience. This laid-back, private and secluded spot offers an ideal getaway for nature loving couples or solo travelers looking for a place to achieve inner peace. Visitors can book stays via AirBnB.
