Commanding a colorful checkered past, the state of Madhya Pradesh is beautifully dotted with countless monuments of past kingdoms, intricately carved temples and stupas, surrounded by magnificent forts, as well as palaces perched on hilltops. There are three amazing UNESCO World Heritage Sites here:

The Khajuraho Group of Monuments – a cluster of 10th century Jain and Hindu temples in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. These temples are known for its nagara-style architecture and erotic sculptures.
